Oh hello there!

Hello and welcome to Hammers & Pearls, I am just so excited you are here! After the suggestion from a best friend, a good kick in the butt by a favorite cousin, and constant encouragement and support from my sister, I decided a while ago that I was going to start this blog. While the idea is mostly to capture the DIY and renovation projects we do to our condo, I also want to include some fun recipes, wedding crafts I completed, and document the new adventures of our married life! Once I had it in my mind to go through and make the jump, there were so many important details to nail down such as the name, the color scheme of the blog, and so on. My to-do list was of course beautiful but as I state on my "about" page, making the to-do list is about as far as I got. Really though, the main reason I hadn't started was because the idea of sitting down and starting the first post was, to say the least, very daunting. I have had my first few post and which projects I wanted to share in mind for a while now, but it was the idea of actually starting and saying hello that made me nervous. What should I say in my first post? Do I just repeat what I have in my about me page? I sat and stared for a very long time at the screen until it finally hit me. Just be yourself and start to ramble! And well, as my dad says, that brings us to today! I hope you stick around for a while because the adventure is just beginning and it is bound to be interesting.
